San Miguel de Allende - Another Beautiful Pueblo

ezflaw

We took a comfortable bus ride from Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende. Many of you who read this have probably been there. While the small city is a tourist destination, we found it safe, friendly and comfortable. Some good restaurants and good coffee places. Buildings, architecture and especially the cathedral were impressive.

We stayed in an Airb&b that was a bit away from the centro. It was about a 20 minute walk downhill but generally we took an Uber back up the hill to the apartment.

I think we did everything that needed to be done in a one week visit, so we can probably mark it off the list now. If you haven't been, it is definitely worth a visit.

The cathedral visible from many spots throughout the town. Cobblestone streets fill the central area. Mariachi bands adorned the parque central.

Another Mexican city with beautiful architecture and terracota colors. My continuing fascination with doors and door handles.

More views from cobblestone streets and more amazing architecture.

El Charco is a beautiful park and botanical garden on the edge of the city that we would guess is overlooked by many a visitor.

A lone mariachi waiting for his compadres and Isa greets another statue.

So much beauty to enjoy. Some of the door handles certainly look to be handmade. Gene is doing great. He was ready for some Jeep time so we went to Andy's for ice cream and he drove. No stopping him now.

Very intesting colonial architecture. I regret we didn't visit San Miguel when we did our Mexico trip in 2017. We mostly stayed in the Ajijic area. Thanks for posting this!
