While the Galápagos Islands consist of roughly sixteen islands, only four of them are inhabited. Of the four, one has less than 100 inhabitants. Consequently, the other three are the most visited islands. We started our visit on Isla San Cristóbal which is the easternmost of these three islands. After our three night stay, we flew on a twin-engine plane with Emetebe Airlines for the thirty-minute flight to Isla Isabela which is the westernmost of the three islands.
For a few extra bucks, I rode in the co-pilot seat of the six-seater. The flight was incredible since from the plane we could see several of the other islands including Isla Floreana, and we flew directly over the horseshoe shaped remnants of Isla Tortuga.
