Another must-do tour in the Galápagos is a visit to Isla Bartolomé and Sullivan Bay from Isla Santa Cruz. This was clearly our most expensive day tour (US $275) but worth every cent.
If you have researched the Galapagos Islands, you will no doubt have seen phots of Pinnacle Rock from Bartolomé.
We traveled by catamaran which, moving at a very slow pace, took about two hours to reach Bartolomé (and the same amount of time to return). Bartolomé is just off the coast of the much larger island, Isla Santiago.
We had incredible weather and were able to see numerous seabirds and smaller islands on the trip. Some of the birds seen included Wilson's Phalarope (in the hundreds), three storm-petrel species, Galapagos Petrel, Galapagos Shearwater, more boobies, more penguins and more tropicbirds.
Once we reached Bartolomé, we hiked up and down the main trail through volcanic rock and were treated to incredible views. Of the scores of photos I took, some are posted below.
First, I have posted a few photos of birds in this post and will include photos from the catamaran and landscape in a short post to follow.
