After some hard birding in Rio Blanco, I spent three nights in Finca Morrogacho on the outskirts of Manizales. This would be a brief rest before a visit to Salento, then heading back into the western range of the Andes and on to the Amazon.
This finca has incredible views from the decks of each casita with some good birds in easy view. Still it has a few quirks. First, as far as I could ever tell it has no website. Above is a link to the place through booking.com. It is also a bit difficult to reach and off the beaten path. The finca serves only breakfast and a late-dinner (which is an excellent vegetarian dinner). You cannot buy a snack there even if you wanted one. To get to any stores and some rather iffy small restaurants, you have to walk more than a kilometer. Still it was a nice and restful spot.
Of Colombia's nearly 1,900 species of birds, there are many beautiful ones. This one has to be high on the list. Blue-naped Chlorophonia
Black-capped Tanager

Green (Inca) Jay. Will probably be split into a separate species at some point. Apologies for the blurry photo.
