On the first full day in the Galapagos on San Cristóbal, I walked a couple of kilometers to La Lobería which is one of the must-see spots on the island. It is rugged, windy and hot but beautiful and, if you look closely enough, you will see life.

There are SO many finches in the Galápagos - Small, Medium, and Large Ground-Finch for starters, along with Small, Medium and Large Tree-Finch and the members of each of those two groups are difficult to tell apart. Then there are the Common Cactus-Finch, Green and Gray Warbler-Finch and Woodpecker Finch (my favorite). I am sure I am forgetting some.
