On the last full day in la Guajira we visited Faro Punta Gallina. This is supposedly the northernmost point in South America. The faro (lighthouse) is still there, but the hospedaje (lodging) is long gone. The area immediately surrounding the lighthouse is eerie and interesting. Visitors have stacked rocks in all sorts of formations for all sorts of reasons. The last photo in the group is from the small boat that took us across the bay to meet Udo for our long drive back to Riohacha. I spent one last night in Riohacha before moving on to Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona. (Tayrona National Park)
