Cartagena - Big and Hot

After my somewhat disappointing visit to las Islas del Rosario, I spent a few days in Cartagena on Colombia's Caribbean coast. Just a few words about it. Then I will let the photos speak for themselves. The first photo is one of my favorites from the entire Colombia trip.
For me, Cartagena was hotter than I expected, larger than I expected but with as many tourists (especially young ones) as I expected. The food was excellent with great ceviche and the architecture was outstanding. Part of the old city is surrounded by a protecting rock wall from which the fort is visible.
After Cartagena, it was on to Medellin, Guatapé, Jericó and Jardín.

La Cevichería - a simple name but great ceviche - promoted by Anthony Bourdain as the best ceviche in Cartagena. I couldn't argue with that.

A few more assorted pics including one of the main bar and restaurant district.
This video gives a sense of the size of the city.
Looks like a great city!
Great photos, Ed! Love the first one too! Thanks for sharing.
