Thankfully, Great-tailed Grackle is not one on of the "black" birds regularly seen in the area. I would classify it as uncommon at this altitude.
Yellow-billed Cacique - great looking bird with a great vocalization. More often seen than heard.
Groove-billed Ani - A strange-looking bird that finds its way to South Texas.
Melodious Blackbird - heard daily and less often seen. The designation of "melodious" is a bit questionable.
Baltimore Oriole is a migrant but many spend the entire North American winter in Costa Rica.
Montezuma Oropendola is a very interesting neighborhood visitor in both appearance and vocalization.
